Hello Team!! I am Sandra Miller, founder of PANDARAZZI.COM , and coordinator for your group adoption.  I am a passionate panda lover and have visited China many times to photograph and work with these delightful creatures.  You can see many photos from my visits at http://graffitimagery.com

First I would like to say THANK YOU to the team members  and parents for  being so incredibly creative in your idea to give your birthday gifts to a baby panda instead of to one another.  What a selfless act of kindness and generosity which has truly touched me as an animal lover.  You should all be so proud of this decision you have made to give back to your world and environment!

Your baby panda which was chosen for you to adopt is a real doll baby.  She is one of a set of twins born at Bifengxia Panda Base where I visited a year ago.

MOTHER:  Ju Xiao
FATHER: Wu Gang

BIRTHDAY: July 27, 2010 at Bifengxia

YOUR BABY:  First twin- Female (129.3 grams at birth)

Second Twin Male (135 grams at birth)

Your cub was initially accepted by mother and later rejected. Both cubs raised in  incubators

I will update here as I receive more information from Carrie Phillips who I work closely with at Pandas International. She gets our updates on the cubs from the breeding center in China and I pass along the fun news to you!

Again, Thank you so much for your participation and for your love of the pandas. This is going to be so much fun!!

A NOTE FROM TORRI TJENSVOLD (revised)

Hi Everyone:  I know that Shari sent out an email regarding a collection for the girls birthday gifts but while she was doing that the girls were forming another plan.  They would like to sponsor a Giant Panda through Pandas International.

We have a friend who does extensive work with them and they are very reputable.  The girls would like to collect $500 (I know that this sounds like a lot but when we divide amongst the whole team it is about $17 per family) which would help care for the panda for a year.  If they can collect this amount we can give the panda they choose a nickname.

They would also get a plaque put up at the Panda Reserve with our group name & the nickname.   They would also receive periodic photos.

PLEASE GIVE YOUR DONATIONS TO SHARI OR......

Thank you,
